Join our Teacher Ms. Cindi in this interactive class with preschool activities and routines. Includes circle time, story time, music, and movement. Parents or designee must stay with child during class and participate. Cost is $55 Resident and $65 Non-Resident.

Join our Early Childhood Teacher Ms.Cindi for Together Time. This is an awesome opportunity for you to get away & have some one-on-one time with your little one! During each monthly workshop, we will enjoy a different, open ended hands-on activity planned by our early childhood teacher, Ms.Cindi. Limit 15 parent-child pairs. Cost is $1 per child.

Summer Programs

Give your child the gift of summer rec memories! Programs focus on wellness, teamwork, and learning sport skills. Our local coaches are passionate about the Summer Rec experience because they love what they do and most have grown up in our programs. We pride ourselves on being positive role models and sharing that enthusiasm with our participants. Don’t miss out on this chance to get outside, get active, have fun and make summertime friends!

Programs will begin the week of June 24th and end the week of August 12th. No program on 7/3-7/4, 7/17 – 7/18. Ages determined as of December 1st, Grade level determined as of the 2019-2020 school year. Payment plans available, contact the office for arrangements. Updates will be given to phone numbers and email addresses provided at registration. Additional T-Shirts may be purchased for $7 each at the time of registration. Registrations after June 8th will have a $10 late fee and will not receive a shirt. The Recreation Department reserves the right to change locations, times or combine grade levels when necessary. Refunds before program start will be minus $5 administrative cost and any supply cost if applicable. Cutoff date for refunds is 3 business days before start of program.

Summer Playground Program

Mon., Tues.  & Thurs. @ Steffens Park Fort Fraser, Wed. @ Somerset Pool

Weekly, starting on 6/24, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12

8:00am -4:30 pm

Experience the excitement of summer camp while still staying close to home! This popular program focuses on the well-loved activities of camps such as arts & crafts, sports, games and even science activities! Our camp counselors engage children in a variety of activities while focusing on encouraging peer-to-peer interactions. Your child will make lifelong friends in this program and will experience the pure joy of play! The camp is managed by a camp supervisor and we average 8 children to a counselor.

Children must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian and we recommend that they bring a lunch and/or snacks daily. On Wednesdays we will meet at Somerset Pool for swimming and will have the option to purchase a pizza lunch for $3. Incase of inclement weather an alternate location will be used. 

Each week is $80 Residents, $100 non-Residents. Each week includes 1 shirt which we will decorate as a craft. Purchase 6 weeks and get one free!

T-ball & Coach Pitch (Ages 6-10)

At RMS Practice Diamonds
Develop skills, make friends and experience competition without the tears! This Recreation league run by coaches and parent volunteers will teach inexperienced players the skills needed, encourage and refine the skills of players with prior knowledge, and encourage healthy competition through team making and emphasis on FUN! T-Ball (Ages 6-7) and Coach Pitch (Ages 8-10) will practice for 3 sessions and then start games. Participants must bring their own glove and helmet. Cost is $60 Residents, $73 Non-Residents and includes a T-shirt for registrations before June 8th. 

3v3 Basketball (Grades 1-8)
Tuesday Thursday Mornings, Grades 1-2 @ 9 AM, Grades 3-4 @ 10 AM, Grades 5-6 @ 11 AM, Grades 7-8 @ 12 PM
At Richards Middle School Gym
Gain confidence on and off the court in this 3v3 basketball program that will teach and support basketball development as well as team building skills.  Inexperienced players will be taught the skills needed and experienced players will be further refining their skills. The best part is your child will have a blast hanging out with new friends and our coaches! Cost is $65 Residents, $75 Non-Residents and includes a T-shirt for registrations before June 8th.

Intro Sports (Ages 4-5)
Little Kickers Tuesday and Thursday Mornings, at 10:30 am at Steffens Park @ Willow Pavilion
Little Sluggers Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:15 PM @ Richards Middle School Practice Diamonds
We take the fear out of starting a new sport with our “Little” programs! These 45-minute programs will be a fun introduction to the T-Ball or Soccer, teaching the basics but keeping the emphasis on healthy physical and social skills. This program is staff coached, but parent volunteers are needed. Participants must bring their own glove and helmet for Little Sluggers. Cost for program is $50 Residents, $60 Non-Residents, Tshirt included in registrations before June 8th. 

Girls Sand Volleyball (Grades 4-8)

Sun, sand, volleyball and friends – what more could a girl want! This program will help aspiring volleyball players train with drills and sharpen skills with practices and games, all while having fun and making new friends! Don’t wait to sign up for this well-loved summer sport! Parent volunteers are welcome. Cost is $65 Residents, $75 Non-Residents, Tshirt included in registrations before June 8th. 

Cheerleading (Grades K-6)
Wednesday Nights, Grades K-2 @ 6 PM, Grades 3-5 @ 7 PM
Cheerleading is a positive sport which encourages enthusiasm, confidence, memory, and gross motor skills! The kids won’t be thinking about how this is helping them in other areas of their life, they’ll just know it’s fun! Join our Fraser Cheerleading Alumni to learn the cheers of our home town. Location TBD $50 Residents, $58 Non-Residents

Tennis (Ages 6-12)
Mondays and Wednesdays, Beginners @ 10 AM, Intermediate @ 11 AM

Join High School Coach McCoy and our team of coaches as we develop young tennis players in a fun five-week instructional tennis program for beginner and intermediate tennis players! All abilities welcome.  Participants are required to bring their own tennis racquet. $55 Residents, $68 Non- Residents.

Sport Mashup

Grades 2-4 -  Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00 pm Location Varies

Sometimes you just gotta get out and play! This program is 100% about the fun of sports. All abilities welcomed! We start the program with learning the basic skills of the game, then move on to the playing! Each sport will have one day of practice and basic skills and one day of games. Sports to be covered will depend on available instructors but could include: Basketball, Tball, soccer, Floor Hockey, Flag Football, Tennis, Rugby, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Bowling and Mini Golf. Teen DIY Marshmallow Shooters

Friday, July 12th, at 11 am OR 6 pm

At Steffens Park Pavilion

Boys and Girls grades 5-8 are invited for some DIY fun! Teens will be using instructions along with guidance from staff to make and decorate their own marshmallow shooters! Then we’ll have a pizza party, marshmallow accuracy contest and an all-out marshmallow battle! Cost is $16 for residents, $22 for non-residents. Don’t want to miss out on the fun? Family Stem Night

July 16 at 9:00 pm at McKinley Park

Please join Engineer Rachel at McKinley Park for an evening of star gazing and learning on July’s full moon night. She will have a couple of telescopes there to discuss how they work and let the children look up close at the moon. Please bring a blanket, flashlight and if you have your own telescope. Parent or legal guardian must be present for the duration.

Computer Science Summer Camp

July 30th-August 1st from 8am-12 Noon @ Fraser City Hall   Ages 7-12 yrs.

Cost is $40 for each day or $100 for all 3 Days

This Computer Science Summer Camp is designed to teach kids the basic skills of Computer Science. Kids will learn something new each day by our instructor, but most of all, they will have FUN! Don’t wait to register, spaces are limited. Registration deadline is July 23rd.
