1. How do I obtain a copy of a police report?

Reports are generally only available to those involved with the report. A request must be made in writing under the Freedom of Information Act. This process could take an additional five business days. Freedom of Information requests can be mailed to:

They can also be faxed to (586) 296-8480, emailed, or requested in person. Once it is determined that the report is available and its cost, you will be contacted.

2. How do I get a copy of an accident report?

Accident reports are not obtainable from the records bureau. Reports must be purchased from the following web site: Purchase Accident Reports

3. How do I get a gun purchase permit?

You must be 18 years or older, a Fraser Resident, have picture i.d. and the fee is $10.00. You may come in and apply Monday – Friday 8am-4pm. Typically all applications are completed and approved on the spot, from start to finish the process takes about 20 minutes.

4. How do I obtain a records check/clearance?

You must come in person with picture i.d., the fee is $20.00. This is only an in house check, ONLY Fraser contacts.

5. How do I purchase a bicycle license?

This license is free, you will be asked to provide the bicycles make, model, serial number, color, and contact information.

6. How do I get a CPL?

The Records Department has applications available for you to pick up however the entire process is handled through the Macomb County Clerks Office.
